Description

"a great watch with all congratulations owed to the superb cast and director Anna Dobson ... one of the most engaging productions I’ve personally seen all year." ★★★★ - Nights Out In Newcastle

"a fast paced, visually stunning and beautifully executed production" - Break A Leg

Famous as a romance about two “star-crossed” lovers, Shakespeare’s legendary drama is also a bloodthirsty tragedy that pulls no punches in its often visceral portrayal of feuding families, doomed love, and violent confrontations.

This will be the fifth time that we’ve staged the Bard’s classic in our century-old history, but the eternal youth of the eponymous lovers lends an enduring freshness to our latest production which is inspired by hit TV series Peaky Blinders.

Look out for much-loved characters such as the witty and cocksure Mercutio, Juliet’s loyal and long-suffering nurse, and Friar Lawrence – the lone voice of calm reason amidst the swirl of pride, prejudice and passion.

Audiences are advised that this production contains smoking and a loud gunshot.
